Recurrent endobronchial soft tissue tumors.

چکیده
Two benign appearing endobronchial soft tissue lesions in two young patients (ages 33 and 26) were incompletely excised to conserve normal lung. Both tumors recurred four and seven years later. The first tumor had abundant small vessels in a myxomatous background (angiomyxoma); myofibroblasts formed the invasive component of the second tumor. To the best of our knowledge these two types of tumor have not been reported in the endobronchial location. Endobronchial lipoma, epithelial papilloma, inflammatory polyps, nodular sarcoid or amyloid and lymph nodes should be managed endoscopically. The potentially recurring and locally invasive endobronchial tumors such as granular cell myoblastoma, pleomorphic adenoma, angiomyxoma, and tumors of myofibroblast, and probably all other sessile benign tumors should be excised completely with part of the bronchial wall. The maximum preservation of normal lung usually does not conflict with this type of radical procedure.

Glomus tumor is a rare, predominantly benign, soft tissue tumor. The lower respiratory tract is an uncommon site of origin of glomus tumor, so endobronchial glomus tumor is extremely rare. Such tumors are mostly benign and identified incidentally on imaging. Diagnosis is confirmed by immunohistochemical staining, and resection is the treatment of choice. We report a middle-age female with endob...

The patient underwent right upper lobectomy and wedge bronchoplasty. The pathological diagnosis was bronchial glomus tumor. To our knowledge, this presentation (with right upper lobe atelectasis) has never before been re...

We present here a 56-year old woman who underwent left lower lobectomy of lung, following pneumonia with unresolved chest radiographs. Computed tomography showed a lobulated soft tissue mass, measuring, 38×27 mm, at the perivascular space of anterior mediastinum. The resected specimen, showed lobulated tumo...
